Chiswick House School & St Martin's College is seeking an experienced and proactive Facilities & Premises Manager to lead the effective management of premises operations across both campuses. This is a role for someone who takes pride in maintaining safe, well-run, and welcoming school environments, and who can lead maintenance and cleaning teams with confidence and care.

Reporting to the CHSMC Core Leadership Team, the successful candidate will oversee premises upkeep, health and safety compliance, contractor and third-party liaison, budgeting, and the coordination of maintenance, cleaning, and transport functions - ensuring our schools remain safe and well-maintained for students, staff, and the wider community.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the maintenance, cleaning, and premises teams across both campuses

• Prepare annual budgets and capital expenditure plans for the Premises Department

• Manage day-to-day premises issues, liaising closely with the Senior Leadership Team

• Oversee health and safety compliance, including risk assessments and evacuation drills

• Liaise with architects, contractors, and authorities on projects, permits, and remedial works

• Negotiate and manage service agreements with third-party clients and service providers

• Oversee security, key management, and the functionality of school systems (fire, electrical, VRF, water)

• Coordinate school transport arrangements and liaise with Transport Malta and local authorities

• Chair operations meetings and represent the Premises Department to the Board, Principal, and external bodies

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in a facilities and/or premises role, ideally within an educational or similarly complex environment

• Strong leadership skills, with experience managing maintenance, cleaning, or operational teams

• Sound working knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practice

• Confidence liaising with contractors, regulatory authorities, and senior stakeholders

• Excellent organisational and budget management skills

• A hands-on, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail

• Willingness to be a fully participating member of the CHSMC community
