We are seeking to recruit a reliable and proactive Corridor Supervisor to join our team at St Martin's College on a full or part-time. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an individual who enjoys working with young people and is committed to helping maintain a safe, orderly and positive school environment.

The Role

The Corridor Supervisor plays an important role in supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the College by supervising students during break times and throughout the school day. The successful candidate will help ensure that students behave responsibly, respect their surroundings and contribute to a safe and welcoming learning environment.

The role also involves monitoring school facilities and equipment, reporting any concerns and promoting the safe and appropriate use of school resources.

Key Responsibilities

Student Supervision and Welfare

  • Supervise students during break times and other designated periods throughout the school day.
  • Promote a safe, respectful and positive environment for all students.
  • Support the school's behaviour expectations and encourage responsible conduct.
  • Monitor student behaviour and report any concerns to the relevant Senior Leader or Senior Middle Leader.
  • Assist in maintaining good order throughout the school premises.

School Environment

  • Encourage students to maintain a clean and tidy school environment.
  • Monitor communal areas and report any issues requiring attention.
  • Support the school's commitment to providing a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.
  • Equipment and Facilities
  • Monitor the safe and appropriate use of school equipment and facilities.
  • Guide students in using school resources responsibly.
  • Report any damage, maintenance concerns or health and safety issues to the relevant staff members.
  • Assist in ensuring that equipment remains in good working order throughout the scholastic year.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Uphold and promote the ethos and values of Chiswick House School & St Martin's College.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism, confidentiality and safeguarding.
  • Work collaboratively with all members of staff to support student wellbeing and success.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties related to the role as directed by school leadership.

Applicants should:

  • Possess a secondary school education qualification.
  • Hold a clean Police Conduct Certificate.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be reliable, responsible and able to work independently.
  • Have the ability to engage positively with young people and promote appropriate behaviour.
  • Be committed to maintaining a safe and supportive school environment.
  • Previous experience working with children or within an educational setting will be considered an asset
