We are seeking to recruit a Teaching and Learning Co-Educator to support the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning across our school. The Role
The Teaching and Learning Co-Educator plays a vital role in ensuring continuity of learning by providing teacher replacement cover when required and supporting students within the classroom setting.
When undertaking teacher replacement duties, the successful candidate will facilitate learning using lesson plans and resources provided by the class teacher or department. At other times, the postholder will provide targeted in-class support to students identified by the Inclusion Coordinator (INCO) and relevant school leaders, helping to promote engagement, independence and academic progress.
The role may also involve delivering small-group interventions and supporting students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
Teacher Replacement
- Provide teacher replacement cover as directed by the Senior Leadership Team.
- Deliver lessons and learning activities prepared by the absent teacher or department.
- Ensure continuity of learning and maintain high expectations for student engagement and achievement.
- Monitor student participation and progress throughout lessons.
- Maintain a positive, respectful and productive classroom environment.
- Manage student behaviour in line with school policies and procedures.
- Provide feedback to relevant staff regarding lesson outcomes, student progress and any concerns.
Student Support and Inclusion
- Support students identified by the Inclusion Coordinator and school leaders.
- Assist students in accessing the curriculum and achieving their learning objectives.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and Learning Support Educators to provide effective classroom support.
- Implement agreed learning accommodations and support strategies.
- Encourage student independence, confidence and positive learning behaviours.
- Contribute to the school's inclusive approach to education.
Intervention Programmes
- Deliver targeted interventions to individual students or small groups when required.
- Support students in addressing identified learning gaps.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to relevant staff members.
- Contribute to planning and reviewing intervention outcomes.

- Previous experience working with children or within an educational setting will be considered an asset.
