St Martin’s College is seeking enthusiastic and responsible individuals to join our Summer Club team as Group Leaders. In this role, you will supervise and support a group of middle school students throughout an engaging summer programme.
The position focuses on ensuring student safety, building positive relationships, and creating a supportive and enjoyable environment during both on-site and off-site activities.
Key Responsibilities
Student Supervision & Safety
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of students at all times, both on and off-site
- Conduct regular headcounts, particularly during transitions and outings
- Maintain awareness of student whereabouts and behaviour
Group Management & Engagement
- Build positive and respectful relationships with students
- Encourage participation, inclusion, and teamwork
- Support positive behaviour and address any issues calmly and appropriately
Wellbeing Monitoring
- Observe and respond to students’ emotional and physical needs
- Report any concerns regarding student wellbeing to programme coordinators
Activity Support
- Accompany students on off-site activities (primarily organised by Whiz Adventure)
- Support team-building and group activities during on-site days
- Ensure students follow all instructions and safety guidelines
Communication
- Liaise effectively with programme staff and activity providers
- Provide updates and report any incidents promptly
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with children or young people (middle school age preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence in managing groups in different environments
- A calm, responsible, and proactive approach
- Ability to think on your feet and adapt to changing situations
- Applicants must be 18 and over
