We are excited to announce that we are looking for an enthusiastic and self-driven Discipline for Learning & Behaviour Lead - Junior Years to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis starting academic year 2025/2026!
Job Objectives
Junior Years Discipline for Learning & Behaviour Lead:
• To plan, organise, develop and monitor all matters related to the learners’ discipline for learning in the Junior Years.
• To create a school environment wherein every Junior Years learner feels welcomed and safe.
• To encourage learners to learn life-long learning skills.
• To ensure that all policies related to Discipline for Learning are updated and to ensure that each one is reinforced.
• To come up with a comprehensive positive behaviour system and empower staff members to adhere to it.
• To work collaboratively with the entire Junior Years Team to ensure that all learners are followed on their specific social and emotional needs.
• To observe and assess the learners’ behaviour.
• To develop and implement plans to address behavioural issues, keep progress reports and provide support to learners throughout the process.
• To share these reports with the Senior Leadership and Senior Middle Leadership Team at Junior Years and to communicate with teachers and learners’ parents to implement the planned programmes.
• To work with the Principal and Senior Leaders on safeguarding issues that require serious attention.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
• Attend a weekly SOC meeting.
• Lead the Level Leaders and organise meetings every fortnight - implement and monitor strategy/goals set by Senior Leaders and Well Being Core Team in relation to behaviour and other connected policies.
• Follow up on disciplinary reports and call parents where necessary.
• Follow up on individual learners as the need arises.
• Organise parents’ meetings whenever necessary.
• Support teachers in the implementation of Discipline for Learning policies.
• Implement behaviour plans devised by the Core Well-being Team together with Level Leaders and external professionals.
• Be a constant, reliable presence on the corridor to ensure smooth, ordered transitions between lessons and after breaks.
• Observe behaviour during break times and empower teachers to actively supervise these times.
• Deal with regular, constant behavioural issues and support teachers.
• Work closely with the Head to develop and implement infrastructural projects.
• Support the Senior Leadership Team to enable smooth and effective transitions (JS to MS, level transitions etc).

• Is fluent in English, and proficient in Maltese.
• Has a Bachelor's degree in a relevant area with appropriate experience in a school-based environment.
• Demonstrates excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and thrives as part of a collaborative team.
• Has a genuine desire to make a meaningful impact on the lives and future success of our students.
• Holds a clean police conduct and has strong references.
