Chiswick House School is looking to hire an enthusiastic, creative, and self-driven Teaching and Learning Assistant on a full-time basis for the next scholastic year 2024/2025 

  

The role will include:  

  • Working with the teacher in planning and implementing a program of instruction that adheres to the school’s philosophy, goals and objectives; 
  • Working with the teacher in making purposeful and appropriate lesson plans that provide for effective teaching strategies and maximize time on task; 
  • Working with the teacher in planning and implementing a program of study designed to meet individual needs of students; 
  • Working with the teacher in creating a classroom environment conducive to learning by employing a variety of appropriate teaching strategies; 
  • Working with the teacher in encouraging student enthusiasm for the learning process and the development of good study habits; 
  • Working with the teacher in providing progress through authentic observations; 
  • Use effective oral and written expression; 
  • Working with the teacher in recognizing learning problems and makes referrals as appropriate alongside the teacher; 
  • Filling in as a replacement teacher when needed;

To fulfil this role, candidates are required to be: 

   

  • proficient in the Maltese and/or English Languages, and 
  • in possession of a recognised qualification at MQF level 6 or a recognised comparable qualification; or 
  • in possession of a recognised MQF level 5 certificate in Inclusive Education (such as those awarded for the Supply Learning Educator courses) and a pass (Grade 1-5, Grade C) in 4 subjects at MQF level 3 (O levels) which must include Maltese, English, Mathematics and any other subject, or: 
  • in possession of a full recognized qualification at MQF level 4 in Health and Social Care, Children’s Play Learning and Development, Children’s Care Learning and Development and a pass (Grade 1-5, Grade C) in 4 subjects at MQF level 3 which must include Maltese, English Language, Mathematics and any other subject, or; 
  • in possession of any subject at Advanced Matriculation Level (minimum grade E) at MQF Level 4 and a pass (at least at Grade 1-5, Grade C) in four (4) subjects at MQF Level 3, which must include Maltese, English Language, Mathematics and any other subject. 
  • Be in possession of a clean police conduct. 
  • Have good references.
